Sometimes it can be nice to return back to the beginnings of a project and use everything you've learned previously to improve upon what came before. Likewise it can be interesting to change things slightly, this time I will be using a 4 directional control system as opposed to 8 directional I used in Legend of the Shades. Following a different tutorial as a basic guide also brings with it some new perspectives in how things can be organised and different methods tasks can be achieved. Although this particular tutorial uses an object based collision system I will be sticking to the tile based one I previously used.

This particular tutorial was sadly never completed however I'm hoping again build something at least playable by the end. In a way I'm looking forward to being left with some more open ended tasks to complete on my own, assuming there aren't too many things left unfinished in the tutorial itself.

Shout out to FriendlyCosmonaut for these tutorials, I'll be adding various links to my homepage (one day this may have it's own section on my site if you can't find it).

We are finally at release stage and the end of my first project. Added a final room to the game, nothing too complicated. Also added a quest that requires you to kill a certain number of enemies as opposed to the usual object collecting. I hope people will download this and give it a try. Until I setup comments on here feel free to visit https://www.facebook.com/CatInTheSkyGames/ thank you for following me on this first journey. I'm looking forward to starting on something similar but new and I'm sure everything I've learned in this project will come of great use in the future.

I am now in the very final stages of getting this game to a point where I would be happy to release it for people to try. The game will be in a demo format and have no actual ending but all the gameplay features will be included. There will be areas that can only be unlocked after the correct weapons or tools have been unlocked and upgrades to buy. I'm in the process of redoing the quests to have a bit more variety and include some more world building. As you can see I'm upto the point of giving the mouse a quest for the player to follow.

The next update will be the fully complete demo for anyone who wants to try it out. From there I will probably put this project to rest for a bit while I follow a new tutorial and see what new skills I can pick up.
